The Rhode Athletic Club's Marathon event returns on 19 September 2026 to Co Offaly, along with a 10km, 3/4 Marathon and Half Marathon option.

The Marathon course starts and finishes at Rhode National School with runners heading from the school through Rathcobican, Ballybryan, Fahy and into Rhode village and back. After the opening stretch, runners complete three flat 11km loops along the scenic Grand Canal, wrapping up at the school lay-by opposite the start line.

The 10km run starts approximately 1km from Rhode National School on the new road and then goes through Rathcobican. From there, runners continue towards Ballybryan, then turn right and just before Ballybrittian Bridge join the scenic Grand Canal path. The route follows the canal and finishes at the school lay-by.

Event HQ is Rhode Parish Hall. The Marathon starts at Rhode N.S (Eircode: R35 KD66); the 10km start line is approx. 1km from the school.
