The Bog Run Castlewellan on 11 October 2026 in Co. Down, is a 5km untimed fun run in support of children and young people impacted by cancer across the island of Ireland.

The event offers 2 courses; a senior course for those 12 years + (12-17 year olds require an accompanying adult) and a junior course (open to 8-14 year olds with accompanying adult).

The 5km course is on and off the forest path and involves crawling through bushes, climbing over trees and wading through mud pits (sometimes up to your neck). The senior course goes through a small section of lake that comes up to your waist. While people of all ages (from 8 up) are welcome, this is a difficult course, particularly for younger participants. The Junior course follows the same route as the Senior course, minus the lake and a few mud pits.

The event raises funds for the Cancer Fund for Children.
