Run in the Dark in Cork City, Ireland is part of a worldwide run held over 24 hours on Wednesday, 13 November 2019.
As darkness sweeps around the globe in mid-November, 25,000 people in 50 cities worldwide will get up from their armchairs, slip on their red flashing armbands and pull on their running shoes to complete a 5k or 10k. In Cork, over 2,000 people will take part in the event, starting on Patrick Street at 9pm.
Blind adventure athlete Mark Pollock had a fall which left him paralysed in 2010. Shortly after the accident, his friends created the Mark Pollock Trust to support him on his mission to find a cure for spinal cord injury using robotic exoskeletons combined with medical research. Your Run in the Dark entry fee will go to the Mark Pollock Trust to help fuel this ambition.
