The Monte Challenge on 29 August 2026 is a run, cycle and off road mountain climb adventure race in the wilds of Donegal.

Explore the Wild Atlantic Way and the Bluestack Mountains by foot and by bike with four options to choose from; The Full Monte, The Half Monte, The Sprint and The Little Monte family run/walk.

You can enter as an individual or share the journey as a team.

Races start from the Community Centre, Mountcharles.

Distances/Events

Little Monte: 5.2K walk/jog
The Sprint: 5.2K run
Half Monte: 5.2K run + 23K bike + 500m run - solo/team
Full Monte: 5.2K run +19.5K bike + 6K mountain run + 21K bike + 5K road/sand dune run - solo/team
